Hi Aaron,

The molar gas constant R is in units of J K^-1 mol^-1 (per mol), while the
*specific* gas constant R_s is in units of J K^-1 kg^-1 (*per unit mass*).
That is, R_s = R/M, where M is the molar mass of the gas.

For H1 gas, M=1g/mol=10^-3 kg/mol,

R_s=8.31*10^3 J K^-1 kg^-1.
