Thibault,

While I can't specifically answer your question about VisRad and
ed_lensX,Y,Z, here is a link to Python package that includes tools for
generating .par settings for lasers in FLASH (it may save you some time!)

https://github.com/phyzicist/flsuite ---> see flsuite.parLaser (includes a
class "parLasers" to programmatically define multiple lasers for a
flash.par file). Usage examples found in "examples/laserexamples.py"
