Alright, I reproduced your error (but didn't fix it). I normally run VisIt from my laptop, but I realized that when I installed to our local cluster, I see the same problem you have; it is not in the list. it did not install with FLASH support, apparently, because of not finding HDF5 libraries. This is seen in the log which was output into the same folder as your build script (in my case, it was called ""build_visit2_10_0_log"

...
-- Checking database plugin dependencies.
...
-- Checking FLASH plugin dependencies: HDF5
-- NOT FOUND: HDF5

Do you have that in your log, too? Dear Ludmila -

From the top top of command window, select

Options -> Plugin Manager -> Databases -> FLASH -> Add
to preferred list -> Apply

You may want to move FLASH to the top of the list and select Apply
again.

Then select

Options -> Save Settings

You may need to restart Visit for the above changes to take place.

Hope this helps.
the answer, yes, I have tried what you suggest, the thing is
that in the popup menu (filetype list) when I tried to open
a FLASH file, it does not show the option FLASH.
