Hi,
I'm trying to solve a problem in FLASH related to active particles. The
problem is that particles are created dynamically over the simulation run,
depending on fluid properties, with some initial velocity. As these
particles move through the plasma, they lose energy at some rate that
depends again on the fluid properties, and eventually get deleted once they
run out of energy. The energy lost during the motion of the particle should
be deposited back into the plasma.
I'm trying to figure out if I can use some of the existing modules for my
problem. It seems like I can handle particle creation using
Particles_addNew, and delete particles by setting TAG_PART_PROP to a
negative number and calling Particles_clean. What I'm not so sure about is
how to handle the energy deposition. Would it make sense to use the same
approach as in the EnergyDeposition module (i.e. in ed_updatePlasma and
ed_TraceRays)?
Thanks,
