This issue has come up repeatedly over the years on the flash-users 
mailing list.

The mailing list archives are public and can be searched.

Here is one way the original poster could have found several pointers:

1) View http://flash.uchicago.edu/site/flashcode/ or 
http://flash.uchicago.edu/site/flashcode/user_support/ (and many other 
pages on that site would do just as well).

2) Locate the Search field at the very bottom of the page.

3) Type "H5Pset_fapl_mpio" and submit.


A search elsewhere, combining "H5Pset_fapl_mpio" and "flash", should 
also give some of the same results.
