Hi Nitish,
Given that you initialized the wavelength to be 125 μm and you're measuring
manually (?) in VisIt that your wavelength instead is 130 μm (they're
pretty close, just off by 5 μm?) it has me wondering how you've initialized
the perturbation (re: Scott's suggestion)... I wonder what subroutine
you're calling to access information on the cells to perform the
calculation for the perturbation. Perhaps that intersection at x=0 actually
starts in the guard cells?
Other questions to ask:
(1) Is this a resolution problem? Do you have enough cells in one
wavelength? How many cells are you setting up for each block, how many
blocks have you allocated in each direction, and then how many levels of
refinement are you using?
(2) Are you and or VisIt measuring the wavelength at the cell centers or
the rightmost edge of the cell (depending how you read the data)? Could
this potentially be an issue with how things are being measured or
calculated in VisIt? Have you been able to replicate this measure in
another visualization tool?
Best,
Marissa
