Hi Shadab,

I’m not really sure what the creator of this variation of the Sod problem had in mind when it was created, but it doesn’t seem to require anything that would allow for different gamma’s out of the box. I say that because it declares the species through the Config file, but doesn’t declare any multi species property for the gamma, or set them in anyway.

It *should* be possible to set this up with multiple gammas by modifying your setup line a little bit. I would try something like
./setup Sod -auto +uhd +ug +hdf5 -1d -nxb=32 species=left,rght -defines=SIMULATION_TWO_MATERIALS --with-unit=physics/Eos/EosMain/Multigamma

This will have setup figure out the species and to automatically declare runtime parameters that will initialize the species properties, such as the gamma, abar, zbar and others and bypass the declaration in Sod/Config. This will also use the Multigamma EoS, which as you might guess uses the gamma based on species fractions present in the cell.

Just be sure to set the ms_[left/right]* runtime parameters instead of the sim_[left/rght]* parms that would have been there before.

However, I am getting the same results as when using a single gamma value.
