[FLASH-USERS] ZPinch test case--Zero magnetic energy

Hi Paria,

I found the same thing: the default xr_boundary_type = "nocurrent" whereas if you change it to xr_boundary_type = "circuit" you'll get large values of Bz = B_phi as expected (though Eddie might want to confirm this is the only change that needs to be done to the default flash.par to reproduce his simulation).

Subject: [FLASH-USERS] ZPinch test case--Zero magnetic energy

[External email - use caution]

Hello,

I am trying to run the ZPinch test case simulation with the FLASH code on a new device. I followed exactly the same steps mentioned in the manual to test the 1D case for the ZPinch; however, I keep getting zero magnetic energy, which is not correct. Could anyone please help me understand what I might be doing wrong? When I run the same test with the older version of FLASH on my other device, I get non-zero values for the magnetic energy solution. I have attached flash.par, ZPinch_1D.dat, and ZPinch_1D.log files.
Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Paria
