From lamb at oddjob.uchicago.edu Mon Jun 8 08:40:12 2015 From: lamb at oddjob.uchicago.edu (Don Lamb) Date: Mon, 08 Jun 2015 08:40:12 -0500 Subject: [Nif_user_group] Encouragement to attend and submit white papers for the Town Hall Meeting on Frontiers of Plasma Science Message-ID: <55759B3C.8000402@oddjob.uchicago.edu> Dear NIF User Group Member, As most of you know, the DOE Office of Fusion Energy Sciences is sponsoring a series of community-led events to identify compelling scientific challenges at the frontiers of plasma physics as well as the general requirements necessary to address these challenges in the next decade.* It is important that the compelling scientific challenges in high energy density physics (HEDP) and the general requirements necessary to address these challenges in the next decade be discussed at these events, whose scope is far larger than just HEDP. I therefore want to strongly encourage you to attend the first event, a Town Hall Meeting that will be held in the Washington DC area on June 30 and July 1, 2015. I also want to thank those of you who are writing white papers for the Town Hall Meeting, and strongly encourage others to do so, whether or not you will be able to attend it. *The deadline for submitting white papers is Friday, June 19th, which is less than two weeks away.* Sincerely, Don Lamb Chair, NIF User Group *More information about these events can be found at the following URL: https://www.orau.gov/plasmawkshps2015/ . -- ************************************************************************ * Don Q.
