Hi Kezman :
You can extract it from the global information in the flash.dat file. The
writing of the integral quantities are handled in
IO_writeIntegralQuantities. You can combine the global kinetic energy
(sixth column) with the global mass (first column) to determine the 3D RMS
velocity. This 3D RMS velocity, normalized to the sound speed (set by the
runtime parameter c_ambient, which defaults to 1) determines the 3D RMS
Mach number.
You should find that it takes ~ 3 large-scale eddy turnover times to
drive to an approximate steady state. The default driving parameters are
derived from a large-scale run which was published in several papers,
including here :
