Hello everyone
I am simulating magnetized plasma expanding into vacuum. Load current waveform is applied to provide outer boundary conditions for magnetic field. The density in vacuum region is 10-4kg/m3. The temperature for vacuum is room temperature. Thus, this leads to a very large magnetic resistivity for material in vacuum region.
We have some concerns about this simulation. The time step become extremely small when resistivity is set to a large value to ensure current free in vacuum region. This might be determined by the CFL condition. The magnetic field introduces unphysical heating for material in vacuum region. Is there any module to describe the diffusion of magnetic field properly in low-density vacuum region? Is it possible to solve the magnetic field implicitly?
Best wishes,
Wang Kun
