Hi

I had similar issues when I installed FLASH 4.8 on macOS Sequoia version 15.3.1. I uninstalled OpenMPI, HDF5, and Hypre, then reinstalled OpenMPI from Homebrew and Hypre and HDF5 (with OpenMPI support) from source. Make sure that when you configure Hypre and HDF5, you specify the correct path for OpenMPI.

Mine is working now without any issues. I don’t know if this will be helpful to you, but I wanted to share it.

Best regards,

Tirtha Joshi

U of Rochester.

Subject: [FLASH-USERS] Installing FLASH On macOS
Hello Flash Users,

Does anyone have any experience installing/using FLASH on macOS with the arm64 architecture? I believe I have installed the necessary dependencies and properly followed the installation instructions in the user guide, however, when running:

./setup Sedov -auto
cd object
make

I get the following error:

rm -f reorder.sh

/usr/local/pkgs/mpich2-1.4.1p1//mpif90 -ggdb -c -O2 -fdefault-real-8 -fdefault-double-8 -Wuninitialized -DMAXBLOCKS=1000 -DNXB=8 -DNYB=8 -DNZB=1 -DN_DIM=2 Burn_interface.F90

make: /usr/local/pkgs/mpich2-1.4.1p1//mpif90: No such file or directory

make: *** [Burn_interface.o] Error 1

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Sincerely,

Jared
